They may cross the Rainbow Bridge, but they never leave our hearts

They may cross the Rainbow Bridge, but they never leave our hearts

We are many who lose our beloved pets and many who grieve in silence.

Recently, I became one of them.

I lost my dog. My best friend. And I had to make the decision no pet owner ever wants to face – to let him go because of illness.

Since then, I’ve started to notice just how many of us are going through the same thing. How many hearts are carrying the same emptiness, the same longing, the same pain.

The hardest decision you can make

Letting your pet go is a decision made out of love.

But that doesn’t make it easy.

Afterwards, grief is often mixed with anxiety and guilt. Thoughts that won’t stop. Questions without answers. Wondering if you did the right thing. If it was too early or maybe too late.

These feelings are more common than we think. And they don’t mean you loved them less, they exist because you loved them so deeply.

The time afterwards

Often, it’s the time after that hurts the most.

  • When the routines are still there, but the one who gave them meaning is gone.
  • When the bowl is still on the floor.
  • When the hallway is too quiet.

The grief after a pet can be overwhelming, because the bond was so pure. So simple. So full of presence. Our dogs give us their loyalty, their joy, their souls, without conditions.

A dog’s soul leaves marks on us for life.

Many people find comfort in the idea of the Rainbow Bridge, a place where our pets are free from pain and waiting for us. Whatever one believes, most of us want to believe that their soul does not simply disappear.

Remembering and honoring

At Petify Posters, we meet people every day who want to preserve the memory of their pet. Not to stay in the grief but to honor the love.

That’s why we create memorial posters.

Memorial posters based on your own photo, illustrated by real artists, with the option to add name and dates if you wish. With or without transparent angel wings. A beautiful place for the memory of a soul who meant everything.

  • A memorial poster is not just a picture.
  • It is a story.
  • A bond.
  • A way of saying: you were here, and you were loved.

We are many

This post is also for you who are grieving. For you who are missing someone. For you who carry questions, emptiness, or tears that come when no one sees.

We are many who lose our beloved pets, and we are many who carry them with us – long after they have crossed the rainbow bridge.

If you wish to create a personal memorial poster for your friend, we at Petify Posters are here for you.
